Plans Too Small to Live

I’m back from hosting my first retreat in Panama!

This trip was years in the making. When I first started as a baby yoga teacher eight years ago I dreamt of one day maybe leading a retreat. It felt so impossibly vast and unavailable at that time. Despite the amount of planning and praying and sweat and tears that went into making it a reality, it is still hard for me to believe I pulled it off. I was shocked and teary-eyed when I met everyone at the airport and realized people actually showed up to this dream I had dreamt for so long. Next week I’ll give you a full recap and video from our time there, but for now I’ll share with you this excerpt from David Whyte’s What to Remember When Waking:

In that first

hardly noticed

moment

in which you wake,

coming back

to this life

from the other

more secret,

moveable

and frighteningly

honest

world

where everything

began,

there is a small

opening

into the new day

that closes

the moment

you begin your plans.

What you can plan

is too small

for you to live.
